The University of Fallujah Council Holds Its Sixth Regular Session for the Academic Year 2024–2025
On the morning of Wednesday, 28 Muharram 1447 AH / 23 July 2025, the University of Fallujah Council convened its sixth regular session for the academic year 2024–2025, chaired by His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, with the attendance of all council members.
The session commenced with the recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha, in mercy for the souls of the victims of the tragic fire that occurred at a commercial center in the city of Kut. The council extended its condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Wasit Governorate, praying that God Almighty grants them His vast mercy and grants a swift recovery to the injured.
During the session, a number of topics related to the academic and administrative realities of the university were discussed, including a review of the directives issued by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research during the sixth session of the Advisory Board, emphasizing the necessity of following up on their implementation across all university units.
In support of the digital transformation project, the University President stressed the importance of the deans’ follow-up on the registration process within the Student Information System (SIS) and the Human Resources system (HR), as integral parts of the automation and digital transformation initiative in the educational process. He also called for raising awareness among students and staff about the significance of digital transformation in advancing university work.
Regarding the public safety file, the President underscored the obligation of personnel assigned as civil defense guards to fulfill their duties diligently. He directed the installation of a board containing important phone numbers inside the guard room and tasked the deans with ensuring the implementation of this measure.
On the subject of university staff rights, His Excellency highlighted the importance of safeguarding the administrative and academic rights of the university affiliates and taking necessary measures to guarantee their implementation without delay. He also emphasized the need to adhere to the administrative chain of command when submitting complaints and grievances, especially those raised to the ministry.
The session also included a review of preparations for the Fourth International Scientific Conference on Information and Sciences, regarded as a significant milestone in the university’s academic and research journey.
The council considered several agenda items and made the following decisions and recommendations:
Reviewing the file of tuition fees and mechanisms for their regulation.
Approving the promotion of a number of faculty members to the rank of professor.
Approving the reduction of tuition fees for certain students in the College of Medicine.
Reviewing and enhancing public safety requirements within the university campus to ensure a safe educational environment.
In conclusion, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, President of the University of Fallujah, expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the council members, commending their efforts in developing academic and administrative work sectors, and reaffirmed the importance of collective work in supporting the university’s aspirations and strengthening its academic standing.
