Workshop Summary
In today’s digital era, the online identity of universities and their academic staff plays a decisive role in global visibility, research impact, and institutional reputation. A well-structured, multilingual, and SEO-optimized university website is central to this identity—serving as the main gateway for rankings, search engines, and global audiences. This session explores the concept of digital identity, its connection to university rankings, and how both websites and staff research profiles (ORCID, Scopus, Scholar) shape global perception. We’ll also discuss the rise of 4th generation universities and strategic link-building using platforms like Majestic to strengthen online authority. Attendees will gain actionable insights on elevating digital presence and performance in ranking systems such as Webometrics, Times Higher Education, and Shanghai.
