Today, Monday, October 20, 2025, the esteemed President of the University of Fallujah, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, patronized the annual religious celebration organized by the College of Islamic Sciences on the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) birthday, under the slogan: “Reviving the Glory of Our Nation Through His Sunnah”. The event was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Mohammed Jasim Abdul, the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Hadeel Mohammed Fayyad, senior muftis and religious scholars, as well as a gathering of faculty members and students.
In his speech, the President of the University of Fallujah emphasized that the Prophet’s birthday represents a renewed spiritual and civilizational milestone, during which we recall the birth of the greatest leader and teacher in history and draw inspiration from the values of mercy, knowledge, and reform that the Prophet ﷺ brought to guide humanity from darkness to light.
He further highlighted that the birth of the Noble Prophet marked the beginning of a comprehensive human renaissance founded on the principles of justice, equality, knowledge, and the pursuit of truth. He stressed that the message of Islam was not merely about worship, but a complete civilizational project aimed at developing human beings intellectually, ethically, and practically.
The President added that universities today, foremost among them the University of Fallujah, bear a significant responsibility in renewing this message by instilling the values of moderation, openness, and dissemination of sound knowledge, emphasizing that knowledge in essence is a form of worship, and sincere work is the path to reform and progress.
He also called for strengthening the integration between educational, health, and social institutions in promoting the culture of mercy, solidarity, and care advocated by Islam, and for translating these values into tangible initiatives that serve humanity and build society.
The celebration included diverse activities, beginning with a blessed recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the Iraqi national anthem, and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in honor of the souls of Iraq’s martyrs. This was followed by a welcoming speech delivered by the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, a short film about the lives of the Mothers of the Believers, and the recitation of poetry and religious hymns expressing love and loyalty to the Messenger of Humanity, Muhammad ﷺ.
