University of Fallujah Hosts Extensive Preparatory Meeting to Discuss the Programmatic Accreditation File for the College of Medicine
On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, the College of Medicine at the University of Fallujah hosted an extensive preparatory meeting chaired by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad. The meeting included members of the committee representing stakeholders who benefit from the college’s services, as well as the heads of the subcommittees responsible for following up on the requirements of programmatic accreditation.
The meeting was attended by the respected Mayor of Al-Fallujah District, Mr. Faisal Khalid Al-Ifan; the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Rafe’ Alawi Fayadh; the Director of Al-Fallujah Teaching Hospital, Dr. Iyad Hussein Al-Nada; the Director of the Women and Children’s Teaching Hospital, Dr. Alawi Mohi Al-Eisawi; the Head of the Anbar Branch of the Iraqi Medical Association, Dr. Kamal Najm Al-Fahdawi; the Director of the Health Sector, Dr. Ahmed Salem Smayt; as well as representatives of civil society organizations and community dignitaries, in addition to the Directors of the University’s Departments of Quality Assurance and University Performance, and Registration and Student Affairs.
In his speech, the University President emphasized that the University of Fallujah places great importance on programmatic accreditation and is committed to involving all relevant stakeholders in shaping a comprehensive developmental vision for medical education. He pointed out that achieving accreditation represents a qualitative leap in the college’s journey and strengthens its position among other Iraqi medical colleges.
The attendees commended the significant efforts made by the University Presidency and the College’s administration, expressing their full support for the university’s pursuit of national and programmatic accreditation. They considered this step a vital move toward enhancing the quality of medical education, improving graduate competencies, and expanding public trust in academic institutions.
The meeting also featured a comprehensive review of comments and recommendations provided by participating stakeholders, aimed at improving the college’s outputs in alignment with public interests.
This meeting comes as part of the university’s strategic direction to solidify the principle of community partnership and open channels of communication with relevant parties to advance academic programs and achieve integration between the needs of the local community and the outcomes of medical education.
