It is one of the departments of the Presidency of the University of Fallujah and is administratively affiliated with the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs. Its role includes introducing students, faculty members, and college staff to the international human rights conventions ratified by Iraq.
Main Tasks:
- Awareness and education through organizing workshops and delivering lectures on human rights for students, faculty members, and university staff.
- Introducing students, professors, and university employees to the international human rights agreements that Iraq has ratified.
- Providing programs, training courses, and workshops for university staff to raise awareness and educate them on the basic principles of human rights, in addition to organizing seminars related to human rights such as Human Rights Day.
- Proposing plans and programs aimed at enhancing and protecting human rights topics in public and private universities.
- Receiving complaints submitted by students or university staff that fall within the division’s jurisdiction, studying them, and providing appropriate solutions.
- Developing the skills of university employees and building their technical and scientific capacities through qualification, implementation, and training programs.
- Submitting periodic reports on the colleges’ activities in the field of human rights.
- Focusing on preparing studies and research specialized in human rights.
- Cooperating with civil society organizations and institutions working in the field of human rights to obtain the necessary official approvals.
