College of Law Holds Workshop on Administrative and Financial Corruption Crimes
Under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, the College of Law at the University of Fallujah organized a workshop titled: “Administrative and Financial Corruption Crimes – Legal Elements and Mechanisms of Proof,” attended by a number of faculty members. The workshop comes as part of the college’s efforts to enhance legal awareness and address corruption phenomena.
The workshop featured three main themes. The first theme, presented by Assistant Lecturer Zaidoun Ibrahim Dhaif, addressed the concept of administrative and financial corruption crimes in Iraqi legislation and policy. He reviewed the legal frameworks governing these crimes, as well as the key challenges facing anti-corruption efforts at both the legislative and executive levels.
The second theme, delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Zabbar Hamad, focused on the overlap in the jurisdictions of official bodies concerned with combating corruption, in addition to asset recovery policies. He highlighted practical challenges in the distribution of powers and emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional coordination among relevant entities to achieve greater effectiveness in tackling corruption.
The third and final theme, presented by Assistant Lecturer Abu Bakr Jubair Saleh, discussed the position of Islamic Sharia on administrative and financial corruption crimes, outlining the legal and ethical foundations that prohibit corruption and promote the values of integrity and justice in society.
This workshop is part of a series of academic activities carried out by the University of Fallujah, aimed at promoting legal culture and strengthening the role of academic institutions in combating corruption in all its forms.
