Under the direction of the President of the University of Fallujah, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, and on his behalf, the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Nahla Naji Hilal, accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Bashar Hamdi Ismail, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department, participated in the First Architects Forum in Anbar Province. The forum was organized by the College of Engineering at Al-Maarif University in cooperation with the Iraqi Engineers Association.
The forum witnessed the attendance of a distinguished group of academics, members of the Provincial Council, and engineering professionals, along with representatives of relevant service departments. This comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to support reconstruction in the province and to develop modern scientific visions that contribute to advancing the urban landscape.
The forum included scientific themes and specialized discussions that focused on the importance of adopting sustainable urban planning principles and employing modern technologies in design and implementation. These efforts aim to achieve an integrated urban environment that meets societal needs and keeps pace with global developments in the engineering sector.
Participants also emphasized the importance of achieving a balance between authenticity and modernity by drawing inspiration from rich cultural heritage—particularly Sumerian, Abbasid, and Islamic architecture—and integrating it with contemporary designs. This approach enhances the cultural identity of the province and gives it a distinctive urban character.
The forum concluded with a set of recommendations, most notably strengthening cooperation between academic institutions and government entities, and activating the role of local engineering expertise in project implementation, contributing to comprehensive and sustainable urban development in Anbar Province.
