The President of the University of Fallujah Launches Breast Cancer Awareness Month under the Motto “Together Toward Better Health Awareness”
On the morning of Tuesday, October 14, 2025, the President of the University of Fallujah, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, officially launched the activities of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, organized under the theme “Together Toward Better Health Awareness.” The events were coordinated by the university’s Women’s Affairs Division in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Department of Al-Anbar Governorate and took place at the Central Hall of the College of Medicine.
The inauguration was attended by Dr. Nawar Asim, Chairwoman of the “Hulm” Humanitarian Organization; Dr. Azhar Hamid Al-Sadran, Member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives; Dr. Anmar Al-Sadran, Member of the Provincial Council; Professor Dr. Nahla Naji Hilal, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs; Ms. Noor Ismail Al-Shujairi, Director of the Women’s Affairs Department at the Governorate Office; Ms. Abrar Al-Ani, Director of the Organizations Affairs Department at the Governorate Office; alongside numerous faculty members, staff, and students.
In his address, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad highlighted the significance of initiatives like this in raising awareness about early detection of breast cancer, supporting national efforts to enhance public health, and encouraging healthy lifestyles. He emphasized that the university’s active role in such events reflects its commitment to social responsibility in the areas of prevention and community education.
The program aimed to educate women about the importance of early screening as a key factor in prevention and treatment, while also promoting general health and fostering a culture of women’s health awareness across the community.
The activities included a speech by the Chairwoman of “Hulm,” remarks from the Director of the Women’s Affairs Department in Al-Anbar, and a video presentation showcasing the initiatives of the University of Fallujah’s Women’s Affairs Division and its contributions to women’s health and social empowerment. This was followed by a scientific lecture by Dr. Abdulwahab Mohammed Abdulwahab, Director of the Oncology Department at Fallujah Hospital, and a presentation by Dr. Huda Hamid Al-Janabi, who discussed preventive strategies and the significance of early breast cancer detection.
The event concluded with a powerful personal story shared by a breast cancer survivor, who courageously recounted her journey, delivering a message of hope and inspiration to all women confronting the disease.
These activities form part of the University of Fallujah’s year-round health initiatives, reinforcing its mission to promote health awareness, social responsibility, and a preventive culture within the community.
