University of Fallujah Participates in Consultative Meeting on Environmental and Climate Justice Project in Iraq
Pursuant to the directives of the President of the University of Fallujah, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, the University was represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Faiq Habib, Head of the Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency, at the consultative meeting on the Environmental and Climate Justice Project in Iraq, organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The meeting brought together specialists, activists, and representatives from governmental institutions and civil society organizations. The agenda featured in-depth discussions on the current state of environmental justice in Iraq, gaps in legislation and implementation mechanisms, and the steps needed to safeguard the environmental rights of marginalized communities.
This participation reflects the University’s commitment to strengthening collaboration between academic institutions, civil society organizations, and international bodies, in a way that supports the development of fair environmental policies and contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Iraq.
