The University of Fallujah Council Holds Its Fourth Meeting in the Fifth Open Session for the Academic Year 2024–2025
Today, Tuesday, June 24, 2025, the University of Fallujah Council convened its fourth meeting in the fifth open regular session for the academic year 2024–2025, chaired by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad. The meeting was attended by the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Nahla Naji Hilal, the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Suleiman Barak Al-Jumaili, and all council members.
The University President opened the meeting—hosted by the College of Islamic Sciences—with a welcoming speech in which he expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Dean and the Council of the college for hosting the University Council meeting. He wished them continued success in fulfilling their academic mission.
The President then listened to briefings from the deans of the colleges on the progress of final exams for the second semester for first-year undergraduate students, as well as exams for postgraduate students across the university’s colleges.
Professor Hamad also reviewed the directives issued by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, emphasizing the importance of adhering to and following up on these directives by the relevant university departments.
The Council discussed a number of key issues and topics on the agenda, including:
• Completion of registration procedures for the Student Information System (SIS) and the Human Resources (HR) system in support of the digital transformation project.
• Providing necessary support for international students enrolled in the “Study in Iraq” program.
• Authorizing colleges and academic departments to review critical scores in exam results.
• Monitoring the implementation of research plans in colleges by heads of academic departments.
• Direct supervision of civil defense duty schedules by the deans.
• Developing a mechanism for assigning postgraduate students to supervising professors.
During the session, the Council approved the following recommendations and decisions:
• Activation of the “Visiting Professor” program to enhance the academic environment.
• Encouraging faculty members to conduct joint research with non-Iraqi scholars, prioritizing collaboration with internationally ranked universities.
• Approval of employee promotions for the year 2025.
• Addressing the balances of self-financing bank accounts.
• Formation of a committee to oversee staff rotation.
• Approval of the academic promotion of a number of faculty members to the rank of professor.
• Adoption of a mechanism to address performance evaluation scores below 50% for certain faculty members and staff.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of the University of Fallujah, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, extended his thanks and appreciation to all council members, commending their continued efforts in advancing the university’s academic and research mission.
